The daughter of a Finnish mother and a father born as a Jewish refugee in China, she often explores her heritage and ties to the past in her poetry. She currently lives in West Chester, Pennsylvania with her family. Her chapbook Äiti, is forthcoming from Finishing Line Press in January 2024.
Isaac Brown Jr, was born in the small town of Salem, New Jersey in 1952. At an early age, he had a disposition towards observing, studying, and writing about people. Thus, Isaac was inspired to write his first poem when he was eleven years old. The poem described his emotional reaction to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Ike has resided in New Castle Delaware for the past forty years!
Isaac graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Psychology degree from Widener University located in Chester, Pennsylvania. He retired from working almost thirty-nine years in a major corporation. But Isaac did not retire from life. He went back to his first love, creative writing. His creative endeavors include writing plays, song lyrics and poetry.
Isaac has had live performances of his music via his cousin’s group “The Nu’Rons”. Some of his songs are currently being played on various streaming services such as Spotify and Amazon music. His plays and skits have been performed in church venues. Isaac and his wife Cynthia were also actors in said performances.
Isaac published his first book in 2021 at the grand-young age of sixty-eight. The name of the book is, “I See You, A Poetic Experience”. It is a collection of poems that reflect his personal experience, observations of others and a hint of philosophical and political discourse. (Also, Ike has recently completed a not yet published book, “I See You 2”.) He has stated that it is both a curse and a blessing to have the gift of “I See You.” Isaac also wrote a chapter in the recently published “Let Us Make a Man” book project (Spoonfed Motivation Publications). Both (published) books may be purchased on his web site, isaacbrownjr.com.
